Got Groundhogs? Feed ‘em Dynamite in “Eat This!”
by admin
Quick note: It’s Friday, so it must Games Day here at MyDailyApp.com. We work hard – we deserve a little game break on Fridays … This week, to wrap up all the excitement from Nokia World, we knew we had to share a really fun – and addictive – game from one of the developers in the spotlight during the big show in Stuttgart. We’re talking about eyeSight, who create engaging applications that use actual hand motions to control the action. Rather than simply press a button on the device, you pass your hand over the device, which is read by the built-in camera, to make your moves.
Use real life actions to control the game! “Crazy Groundhogs” are popping in and out of holes in the ground. Throw sticks of dynamite into their gaping mouths to make them go away! (Well, blow them up, actually – but it gets the job done.)
OK. So maybe this one won’t win any awards from the local humane society, but let’s be honest, this game is hilarious. It contains tons of levels, fun bonus rounds, and the clincher is that you use actual hand motions to play the game. Rather than simply press a button to throw a stick of dynamite, you actually flick your wrist. Your device uses the built-in camera (either the one on the front of the device, or the main camera) for input.
Check out this quick video about the game:
Here’s the nitty gritty:
- Graphics – Clever – and amusing – cartoon graphics.
- Game play – The game play is great. Each round becomes increasingly more difficult, as bonus items are introduced. Make sure to pick up any extra dynamite you come across so you don’t run out! And remember all those bonus items that pop up are worth extra points, so throw a stick of dynamite at them and see what happens!
- Music/Sound FX – The music is fun, and like the graphics have a very cartoon-y feel about them. Sound FX follow suit and prove to be very entertaining throughout the game.
- Controls – We have been playing this game on a Nokia N97, and the controls are perfect. It runs nicely on both S60 5th edition devices as well as most S60 3rd edition devices such as the Nokia N95, Nokia N96, or Nokia N81. One caveat: since this game is played using motion controls from your hand through the device’s camera, the act of ‘throwing’ the dynamite take a little getting used to … but, once you get the hang of it, you’ll be blowing those pesky little critters away left and right!
So if you ready for a good laugh as you attempt to feed those groundhogs dynamite, ‘Eat This!’ is well worth the download. We’re fairly certain that even true animal lovers will still get a kick out of this truly interactive game!
This game is available for S60 3rd Edition devices, as well as S60 5th Edition devices such as the Nokia N97. It costs $4.99 (USD) in the Ovi Store, and it can be purchased here.
