Rescue the Little Red Rectangle in BlockGO Lite
by admin
I’m a big fan of puzzle games – you know, the ones that require you to use a little bit of logic and brainpower to win. And BlockGo Lite – the free, trial version of the full game – from FrienzPlay, is a great puzzle game.
My kids like to play it when we’re waiting somewhere (such as out to eat, before the meal has arrived, or while waiting for the movie to start, stuck in traffic … you get the idea). It’s a good quick-play game, even if you only play for a few levels, that provides plenty of on-screen engagement.
As you play, your job is to help the little red rectangle (or is it a block?) escape from the opening in the wall on the right side of the room. Sounds easy, right? Well, other blocks are strategically placed throughout the room to prevent your escape!
To see for yourself, here’s a quick video demo of the game:
And, don’t be fooled by the Lite version here. It includes 20 levels that get progressively harder as you go, and require a little bit of trial and error to figure out the solution. The full, paid version of the game includes 99 levels!

I really like the simple, yet colorful block graphics in the game. And, the little red block ‘interacts’ with your on-screen moves – as if it is smiling back at you when you make a good move …
… and scowling at you when you make a mistake. (Try not to make the little fella angry, OK?)
The game provides little doses of encouragement after you successfully complete each level, so do your best to free the little red block in as few moves as possible.

As you can see, I need some practice!
Also, while the game reminds you about the full version available in Ovi Store, this is not a distraction during gameplay. And, to get nearly 5X more levels than the free version, it just might be worth the upgrade.
BlockGo Lite is optimized for use on S60 5th Edition devices, such as the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, and Nokia N97. It makes really good use of the available space on the screen, and the touch-based interface is smooth and simple to use.
According to the developer, the game is also available in seven languages (English, Spanish, French, Germany, Portuguese, Russian, and in both Traditional and Simplified Chinese). but one of the things about this game that makes it so good is the intuitive gameplay. You could simply turn it on, and figure out how to get started with ease. No tutorials necessary.
BlockGo Lite is free in Ovi Store. The full, paid version of BlockGo is $2.99 (USD) in Ovi Store.
