There’s No Pressure – Try Gravity Free for 10 Days
by admin
OK, at the risk of sounding like an infomercial, we’re going to kick off this week – which will focus on Social Networking apps – with a look at Gravity, the oh-so-smooth Twitter app for use on Nokia S60 3rd Edition devices (such as the Nokia E71), as well as S60 5th Edition devices (such as the Nokia N97 and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic).
If you’re hooked on Twitter – and we’d be willing to bet that the majority of our active readers ARE hooked – then Gravity is one smokin’ hot, must-have app.
For those in the know, this post is going to sound a little bit like preaching to the choir … But for those of you who are new to the Twitter trend, and if you are interested in doing more than dabbling with the occasional web-based post to your account, Gravity makes it easy peasy lemon squeezy.
What’s the big deal, you ask? … Where to begin?
Yes, you can post updates, see a timeline, see replies to your messages, view your own Tweets, and anything you have marked as “favourites.” But you can also conduct Twitter searches, and see top trends in real time. You can also post images from your Nokia device directly to various online accounts that support Twitter (such as TwitPic, TwitGoo, Yfrog, and more).
On Nokia S60 5th Edition devices, such as Nokia N97, the app features what is known as “kinetic” scrolling, making the flow of the app on screen very fluid and easy to use. As you swipe your finger across the touchscreen on your device, Gravity is very responsive and fast. Also on the Nokia N97 there is the ability to add the app to the device’s homescreen, for one-click access. As you get pulled deeper and deeper into the Twitterverse, this will be a feature that you insist on having at all times. (Perhaps that’s why the app is called “Gravity” – it helps to suck you in to all-things Twitter, all the time …)
One of my favorite features of the app is the ability to be logged in to multiple Twitter accounts at the same time. Trying doing that from your desktop! Now, obviously not everyone needs more than one Twitter account – and for most of us, one will do just fine. But suppose you have your personal Tweets, and your work-related Tweets? Gravity is on your side.
Need more convincing? Watch this quick video demo of the app in action:
Oh, and one more thing, you can now get a taste of Gravity for your Nokia S60 device before you buy it. A free 10-day trial version of the app is now available in Ovi Store, so you can really try it before you buy it. And here at Daily App, we think that’s an offer that is going to be hard to resist.
A few more items to point out before we go:
If you want to learn more about developer behind Gravity, please visit the mobileways.de website, and check out this recent interview on Forum Nokia.
Also, if you get hooked on Gravity, and want to show your appreciation for the app, please “mark as a favorite” in the 2009 CTIA Hot for the Holidays online awards (voting ends on 5 October).
So, now it is up to you. Do you Tweet? Do you use Gravity? Are you tempted to try it? Let us know what you think, and post your comments below.
