Remember Everything with Evernote on Your Nokia N900
by JasonBlack
OK, small confession here: I’m a huge fan of Evernote as a web-based tool/plugin for use while I’m browsing online. I have been for a very long time. So, when we found out that there would be an Evernote Sharing Plugin for use on the Nokia N900, I gave a knowing smile to my teammates, and added the app to our calendar for reviews.
If you haven’t used Evernote before, this might be the best time to try it for yourself. First, the plugin for use on your Nokia N900 is free to download. And then, the options are boundless. The premise is simple: Have an idea or something you need to save for future reference? Pop it into Evernote, and you’ve got it neatly saved and tucked away for whenever you are ready to come back to it. And, naturally, when using Evernote on your N900, you have portable access to all of the info you have saved – if you can get online, you can view any of the notes you’ve clipped.
And, as you can see from the screenshot above, options for each individual note are only a click away, including the ability to e-mail a note to someone else.
You can use the mobile app to see all of your Notes at once – whether those are notes saved from the device or using the desktop-based web tool. And any notes you takes using your mobile are automatically – and nearly instantaneously – synced with your Evernote account that you see through a traditional web browser, too.
Within individual notes, you can easily add any of the revelant details that you need for later reference, including custom tagging of your notes, so you can use specific keywords that are likely to trigger your memory at a later date.
You can use Evernnote on your N900 for photos and other stuff you need to save, too. Remember, Evernote is a web-based tool, so there may be charges for your data connection – that will depend on your individual billing plan with your local operator, but the app is free, and registration with Evernote is free, too.
