The award winning graphics and game play in EDGE has you guiding your cube around a maze of moving platforms and shapes with either your finger, phone keys or by tilting your phone to direct the flow of your cube (depending on your handset).

I did not know what to expect from a puzzle game, as they are truly a dime a dozen. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and fun-factor that EDGE brings to the table. The concept is very simple, but don’t let the simplicity fool you. The folks at Connect2Media spared no details when it came to the creation of this game. (For goodness sake, take a long look at the main menu screen and notice that a cube is moving along the letters ‘E-D-G-E’ in the background!)

Graphics
Graphically the game is very well done. Simple is key. Additionally, I really need to stress the user interface here. Wow. From the in game menus, to the fonts, colors, and overall look and feel I am truly blown away. Careful detail and attention was paid to graphics and interface, and it shows.

Game play
46 Levels. Is that enough for you? OK well if that is not enough, how about the levels you can unlock? How do I unlock levels you ask? Simple my friend, simple. You get a grade every time you finish a level of the game which is based on how quickly and efficient you complete it. Oh, I forgot to mention, that you not only need to be speedy when beating a level, but you also need to collect all the prisms scattered through out the maze. Breakdown of grades is as follows:

o    D – slow
o    C – not too bad
o    B – good score
o    A – gamer
o    S – professional
o    S+ – edge master

So if you want to unlock the hidden levels, here is a hint… COLLECT THOSE PRISMS!

Music/Sound FX
Beautiful, vibrant music and sounds. As soon as you get to the main menu of this app you are graced with soothing chords of pianos and organs. During game play your ears will also be stimulated with different music tracks as you progress through out the game.

Controls
I tested this app on my Nokia N97, so the controls of the game were all done via accelerometer. In fact, when I first run the application it asks me to place my N97 on a flat surface and then tap the screen. This calibrates the accelerometer to be even more accurate and precise. Nice touch. Overall, controlling your cube around the maze is easy.

EDGE by Connect2Media is a must have for all gamers out there.  It offers everything you can ask for in a game. Ample levels, replay value, great UI, and above all that addiction factor. I am currently stuck on level 6, but if I confident I will beat all 46 levels. In fact, I am so addicted to this game that I need to beat all 46 levels.

At $2.99 I can comfortably say that this app is worth every penny. Well done, Connect2Media. We look forward to more quality apps!
