Show Off Your Kung-Fu in Bruce Lee’s Iron Fist!

by BillVolpe

Play as Bruce Lee, and assist the Chinese authorities as you go undercover to participate in the illegal underground ‘Iron Fist’ tournament. Play through multiple hard-hitting challenges – facing off against elite warriors who have come from all over the world to prove their supremacy – defeat the Iron Fist champion to shut down the tournament and bring the clan to justice.

Here’s the nitty gritty:

Graphics
I am playing Bruce Lee – Iron Fist on a Nokia 6700 Classic on the Series 40 Platform. I was very pleasantly surprised with the graphics and animations in this game. There is this pre-conceived notion that Series 40 devices cannot handle higher quality graphics and game play. Well, it is time to put that rumor to rest. The latest Series 40 6th Edition OS is awesome, and Bruce Lee – Iron Fist looks beautiful.

Game play
Bruce Lee – Iron Fist is very similar to the Street Fighter II or Mortal Combat franchises. A true fighter game where you stand toe to toe with some of the meanest guys in China. You go from battle to battle upper cutting and front kicking one enemy to the next. There are also lots of cool hit combos you can trigger to get the highest score possible. With varying difficulty levels and different game modes to unlock, you will not get bored easily with this one.

Music/Sound FX
The music in this game is pretty average. The only trouble is that I could not get any sound effects to play. A little bit of a downside here for me as I would appreciate hearing my opponent hit the ground after I administered a solid KO!

Controls
On the Nokia 6700 Classic controls are pretty good for a standard candy bar style phone. The directional key pad moves Bruce around, and then two action buttons for kicking and punching (5 key and 7 key). If you press a directional button then an action button you will perform various punching or kicking moves to further wound your enemy.

Overall, Bruce Lee – Iron Fist is a must have for Series 40 devices. 1) The gameplay is solid, and it is tons of fun to play, and 2) It’s FREE! So you have no excuse to not own this one. Check it out today!

Game on.
