We have some great news to share! The team at Pico Brothers has achieved a fantastic milestone – their apps in Nokia’s Ovi Store have been downloaded more than 20 million times.

Regular readers of this blog know that we have been long-time fans of the apps from Pico Brothers, and we so excited for their success. Pico Brothers have more than 70 apps in Ovi Store today, ranging from engaging entertainment and games to useful utilities. As you will see, their apps include a mix of free and paid content, as well as some that are free with the addition of in-app ads.

They produce applications with great functionality, while at the same time remembering to keep in the fun (their videos on YouTube prove that!) . The app Big Sound Buttons comes to mind! Or maybe you want to see how your voice sounds when it is played backwards! Here you can see the Backwords Recorder hard at work:

At the same time, there is plenty of practicality, too. You can do things like learn how to cook the Perfect Egg. And, their Laundry Help app includes washing instructions for 182 care symbols found in Europe, America and Japan. Hey, you never know, right?

Recently, they’ve been developing apps using Qt, including their free YouTube Downloader app, where you can see the latest videos, and download them straight to your Nokia smartphone for play back in HD.

For those who want to get an inside look at what might be coming next from Pico Brothers, you can sign up to be one of their Beta testers – these apps are work in progress, and you can provide feedback about whether these apps should make the cut for future publication in Ovi Store. One thing we know for sure, the team at Pico Brothers is extremely responsive, and they want ideas from their fans, too. Visit their “Invent with us” page to share feedback, and your ideas for new apps. I know for a fact that they read all of the mail that they receive!
