Recently, we asked ourselves a question: Are game sequels better than the originals? ‘Sometimes‘, we all agreed. To continue testing this hypothesis, we set about playing – Farm Frenzy 2. Result: One more sequel proves we are correct! This game sequel is even more engaging and fun than the original – Farm Frenzy. If you remember, we loved Farm Frenzy and wrote about it here!

Farm Frenzy 2 was developed by Alawar Games. The plot of Farm Frenzy 2 is similar to that of the original. I saw a marked improvement in the graphics. The sounds are more life-like. There are subtle differences in the look of the animals between Farm Frenzy 2 and the original game. Without further delay, let us ‘farm’ right in!

As you start off the game, the levels are straightforward with simple goals. In the first level, your goal is to get two eggs. If you accomplish that within a minute, you get 100 points and if you do it within two minutes, you get 50 points.

All your animals feed on grass. To grow grass, just tap on the center of the game area. You need water to grow grass and once you are out of water you need to replenish the supply to your well. To replenish, you need to tap on the well. Your animals reward you with their products.  You tap on these products to move them to the warehouse.

You can then sell these products to the market. Tap on the warehouse on the bottom of the screen to select which products you would like to ship on the truck to sell in the local city market. Each sale gives you some coins, which you can use to buy processing units, water or animals. However, the sale happens only after your truck goes to the market and comes back to you. You can see the progress on the top right corner of the screen.

You can either sell raw materials such as eggs and pork at a low price or you can process these raw materials to get a higher price for your final products. To process your eggs, you can buy a powdering unit, which produces powder used for baking cakes. You can then buy a baking unit, which will use this powder to produce cakes. After the final product is produced, tap on it to move it to the warehouse.

Dangerous bears check in to your field and toss away your animals killing them. You need to cage these bears by tapping on them continuously. Once you move the bear cages to the warehouse (by tapping on the cage), you can sell them in the market for coins. Bear cages occupy a lot of space in your warehouse. You cannot put all the bear cages in the warehouse. So you need to manage the warehouse space and the trips to the market effectively.

For a minute during one of the games, I was in a real ‘frenzy’ mode collecting eggs, shipping cakes, fighting bears, growing grass, buying pigs and doing seven other things all at the same time. I loved the challenge! To confess, I played non-stop for four full hours yesterday and I am going to continue playing today. If you loved the original, you will adore this sequel.
