About Ovi Daily App
Update (21 May 2010): We’ve added new interactive “tutorials” to the blog, so you can really ‘try before you buy’ different apps in Ovi Store. We will be adding new tutorials each week, and we welcome suggestions for what apps to feature – please submit ideas using the Comments box below.
Update (22 January 2010): See Item #3 below. We’re changing our own rules. It had to happen sooner or later. Starting tomorrow, the blog will feature new content every day of the week – not just on weekdays! So much for taking time off …
Let’s be honest: We’re biased. OK, we admit it. We have a point of view, and we’re not afraid to use it.
The reviews and insights that you will find here are all written by real people who happen to work for Nokia. In this case, Forum Nokia, which is world’s largest mobile developer community.
When we first talked about starting this website, we knew we wanted to do two things: write about all the cool apps that we were seeing in Ovi Store (the list is growing each week!); and write about the developers and companies that have created these apps for all of us to use.
Now, let’s clarify a few things:
- These reviews are NOT paid endorsements of any kind. Neither the team that runs Ovi Store, nor the developers whose apps are reviewed have any influence over the apps that are selected, or what is written about those apps.
- We promise to bring you new stuff every day of the week – YES, 7 days a week! - business day (Monday through Friday) that we expect you will enjoy, too. OK, if you don’t like it, tell us what you don’t like, and we’ll try harder.
- We know there’s a ton of content out there for your Nokia mobile devices. Equally, we know that most people are really busy, and can’t spend all day looking at apps. We’re going to do the homework for you. We didn’t think you would mind.
- These reviews are likely to be positive in tone. We’re going to test a lot of applications and content in Ovi Store, and then select the best ones to write about. We won’t waste your time with bogus reviews about apps we wouldn’t use ourselves. Honest.
- We won’t be right all the time. And, we’re going to make mistakes. However, when that does happen, we’ll acknowledge it, and we’ll fix it.
OK, this list could go on and on, but we think you get the idea.
Let’s conclude with one more suggestion: If you have feedback, ideas, comments, suggestions, compliments – even complaints – we do want to hear it. There is a comments section available at the bottom of each day’s entry for your instant gratification. And other than comment spam, and stuff that’s just plain mean, we have no intentions of censoring what you have to say. If you want to talk to us directly, drop us a line or send us a Tweet and we will do our best to get back to you within one business day.
