The guys from Montroller really showed their skills at the great event Garage48 Helsinki 2011 this last weekend.
Garage48 is a boot-camp style community event to build new services just in 48 hours, and the Montroller team started of with a Nokia N8 and made it work as a 3D controller device (like Wii) to control and drive a Lego Mindstorm robot, and it only took them about 6 hours to make the robot work with Qt on the Nokia N8.
Here you’ll see it in action:
And here is the behind-the-scenes video
Although Garage48 is not about winning, but coming up with and implementing cool ideas, out of the 16 teams, Montroller won two of the awards; Winner of PUBLIC VOTE and Nokia special prize for their achievements.
We are also happy by the fact that two of the coders from Montroller took part of the Qt Training in Riga, and they had never worked with Nokia QT before that!
Garage48 2011 did attract a lot of talents, so go ahead and read more about Montroller, the other winners and participants.
I like your video a lot. It’s really cool what you can quickly achieve with Qt and N8. And I like the title of this blog. I often think that our smartphones are soon going to control most of the digital world we are interacting with.
Hallo, I think this is very great. Keep up the good work.
Excellent piece of writing about Ever wanted to use your mobile to control… well, everything? – Nokia Nordic Blog for developers brbr That is certainly why I personally keep coming back and following http://blogs.nokia.com/nordicblog/news/ever-wanted-to-use-your-mobile-to-control-well-everything/ regularly.
