Tonight I will be holding a presentation at a Mobile Monday Event in Vilnius, Lithuania.
I will be speaking on the topic; why Develop For Nokia, and I’m really looking forward to the event.
I’m presenting the opportunities available for mobile application developers that develop for Symbian, Maemo and MeeGo platforms with our easy Qt development tool. In addition, I will demonstrate the power of Nokia when it comes to distributing and marketing applications. I will also announce an upcoming Pan-Baltics Qt training event.
There are more interesting presentations lined up for tonight. Jonas Davalga from Omnitel will speak about this year’s global growth of the smartphone market. Microsoft’s representative Tautvydas Dagys will introduce the new mobile operating system Windows Phone 7 that was launched on a month ago.
If you are a developer, beginner or expert, or just passionate about mobile technology in general, this presentations are for you.
Here are my slides for tonight:
Too bad it takes such a long time for a application to be reviewed, after submitting it for publish in OVI
I think this will discourage all the beginners programmers, like myself
Hi,
thanks for your comment. You are right, we have had a bit of an overload situation in the Publish process, as you might have read in the Ovi Publish Newsletter. We are just getting in so much content that our Publish and QA team has difficulty reaching the turnaround targets.
However, rest assure that we are doing our best and we should get back to faster turaround times again. If you have something more planned in terms of application marketing or specific time to market needs, let us know and we will see about finding a special slot for your app.
Hi Mikael,
I read about the delay process and I understand Nokia.
Here is my story. First I discovered the Nokia Developers Challenge. As it seemed interesting I decided to participate.
The problem was that I never developed applications for mobile. Then I discovered the Nokia QT SDK and I was very excited. I started working on a basic app and after a week it was ready.
I tested on some phones using the Remote Device Access provided by Nokia and then send it for publish.
In the meanwhile somebody take a quick look at my app and told me that it won’t be approved as it had a little error. I started again working on my app, fixed the error, added some improvements and submitted back for review.
And now I am waiting to be reviewed.
As the winner for the Nokia Developers Challenge will be the app with the more downloads, the sooner it will be available in the Store the better and the more chances I will have.
So I hope that the review process will end soon (as it’s been more than a week since I submitted my app)
Also now I am working on a basic game, I hope that today or tomorrow I will send this app to for review
Thanks for listing

Now, back to learning, creating and testing
