97 New Nokia N97s Hidden Across 13 Countries
The race is on. It’s time to be one of the first people in the world to get a brand new Nokia N97 device, for free, before they hit the shelves in-store. The only catch is, they’re hidden across 13 countries and the only way to find them is to crack five cryptic clues online.
Imagine being able to test drive the most advanced multi-media, multi-sensory mobile device to date before anyone else, and knowing that only 96 other people around the globe were part of the same exclusive ‘Search for N’ winners club; all of whom solved the Nokia clues and discovered a new Nokia N97 before anyone else.
Running over a period of seven days, in advance of the Nokia N97 going on sale worldwide, the ‘Search for N’ clues will be released on the exact same date and time across each country. Five clues will be asked on the site which could relate to news that week, feature aspects of the new Nokia N97, or include clever cryptic clues that encourage consumers to explore content online
Once contestants successfully answer all five clues the race is then on to locate a hidden Nokia N97 device – either in a physical location, or online. Only 96 other people around the globe will have the chance to find a Nokia N97 before anyone else, and join a ‘Search for N’ winners club which will span three continents.
To be part of the international ‘Search for N’ treasure hunt, and join thousands of others, set your watch for when N-day begins. Don’t be late.

from the 13 countries, is USA included in this? it doesn't seem to list United States as one of the countries.
btw, the drop down only shows 10 countries. what are the 3 missing countries?

Its really very bad from Nokia that Latinamerica is always the last on everything…Like this we will never be part of "The World". In Argentina they are still promoting as the latest phone the N96…

US is not in the countries for the competition, but why? I would be really cool and would promote the N97 in a country where carriers and people don't know about Nokia's existence

Ugh. Releasing the N97 to the United States the same time as the rest of the world is a HUGE step on Nokia's part. But why not include them in the fun activities?
Nokia, do you think that you might actually gain market share by promoting this kind of stuff? Imagine having a little air time on TV promoting a free phone. You'll have thousands trying. Those who didn't win, will still want a powerhouse of a device.
I am disappointed…Not because I can't play along, but because there are a lot of people in the United States that look at Nokia as a "cheap phone maker."

Hey, can anybody tell me if canada is part of the Nokia's "Search for N" race or not?

I don't believe Canada is on the list. They said 13 countries on the list, but the ones on the site show 10. They are:
- China
- Denmark
- France
- Malaysia
- Netherlands
- Russia
- Singapore
- South Africa
- UK
- United Arab Emirates
Nokia, seriously what gives? You have Malaysia instead of USA on the list? If you really want market shares in the US, then you have to invest some of your marketing resources and promotions to the USA!!!
I've been a Nokia fan since back in the days of the first real smartphones like the 7650. I still can't believe it has taken this long for Nokia to finally release new products simultaneously in the USA along with rest of the world. (e.g. N97)
LET'S GET WITH IT ALREADY!

Stop talking about this phone. Put it on the market and if it is good, people will talk about it.

Serry Marion, I don't think there is any malfunction or issues via software with the phone. Nokia used the 5800XM as a base to work out some of the kinks on the S60 5th Edition. Hardware-wise, the N97 has components that Nokia is familiar with and have used for quite some time (e.g. 5mp camera, resistive touchscreen, gps, etc)
IMO, Nokia is planning their launch of the N97 based on the market. As you may know, June and July are going to be HUGE months for the mobile phone industry. HTC, Apple, Samsung are all coming out with their flagship phones. Nokia needs to plan the release in a timely manner to get the most market share. Release the beginning of June would be ideal, that way by mid June the N97 will be out on the market in force. Definitely will thwart some of the attention for the competitors.

NOKIA N97 is the best one?
I DON'T THINK SO..
im really dissapointed with this new N97. the reason is :
1. the TOUCHSCREEN is using old technology, N97 is using resistive touch screen which makes it hard to touch, not as good as iphone which use capacitive touch screen. if you have an iphone, you could feel the difference. iphone touch screen is much better.
2. the qwerty keyboard position is not convenient. the space button is located on the right side, not in the middle. its very irritating.
3. many bug on this new symbian OS.
actually i was going to buy this phone, but after i heard this news, i think iphone is better.
i hope nokia can do better for the next model.

I am owner of one N97, & very disappointed with the device. The touchscreen can´t be worst, I must turn off the phone( & take off its battery)several times a day to make its touchscreen work.
Furthermore, I realized that Videos that were compatible for my previous N96 can´t be played in this new device
It is a shame that Nokia has launched this product with such subdue quality standard

i just bought a nokia N97 yesterday and was very disappointed to find out that the touch screen is not responding well and the unit itsel gets hot even if its idle or not in use and it seems that there is an automatic shut off coz i always found out that it was off everytime i dont used it for an hour i still have to turn it on before i can used it again they say that i only have to tap the scereen or click the sude button but its not really working i still have to remove the batt. and re start i regret my decision of having its not worth to spend 32,700 just for this one…so sorry
