I will defiantly stay away from OVI store. I think whole thing is huge disaster.
1. There is no way to re-download applications after (hard reset you could lose your applications like me RoadSync) purchase even it shows up in my staff category.
2. No license key provided with follow up email or application itself.
3. No way to contact customer service directly, you have to contact customer service at nokia USA then spend ½ hour on hold then another ½ hour to fill out form.
You also need order number to do that and hope they will send you SMS with download link. I am still waiting!!!!
4. Purchases are process outside of USA that caused red flag with my credit card company (Chase, HSBC) I had to spend two days on the phone to get my credit card working again.
Adios OVI

Ovi Store team, there is a LOT of complaints on any given phone forum about not being able to reload an already purchased app e.g. after a reset of a phone. You HAVE GOT TO come out with an official Nokia position on this – no matter what it is. You have to provide an explanation of the situation, no matter how grim it may be for power users for keep chaning phones, resetting them etc., but you have to do it for your own PR sakes. And do it FAST.

this is a particularly bad advertisement, now I haven't used either the N97 or the Ovi Store yet, but seriously, that advertisement was appaling!

Jee, the usual whiners…
Give Ovi Store some time to grow and all glitches and imperfections will get corrected. Nokia might be slow now, but remember it has to serve some dozens of markets at the same time.

Kensai, just to set record straight for my part: I think Ovi Store is awesome and I must commend Nokia for being to able to roll it out in so many countries and devices!
The reloading issue is just something that is giving it a bad name for (hopefully) no good reason.

We really need Blackberry Connect working on the N97. I'm trying to move from my archaic E90 (compared to Android, iPhone, etc) which runs BBConnect very well. Having it on the N97 would be the best blend of business and play. Just Do It!

yeah, seriusly some of you other commentators need to calm down. let Ovi grow a bit–it's barely a month old. let's not forget that its MILES ahead of where we all were before.

I really don't understand, why Nokia and this N97 beautiful cellphone use this horrible Ovi in order to make the phone better. Its a disaster, you can't do nothing with Ovi but wasting your time.Sorry Nokia but I'm one of many with the way the phone works…My expectations were higher and you did not filled them.

I'm writing on behalf on Nokia–I manage product marketing for Ovi Store–and want to followup to Viipottaja's post above in case others have a similar question–>>If you as an Ovi Store customer encounter a problem with your device that requires the device to be reformatted (reflashed), resulting in the loss of your purchased content, you should contact Nokia Customer Care and they’ll follow up with you on the best options to address this. The link to Customer Care is https://www.ovi.com/services/support/care?id=services_support_care

The Ovi stuff is nice, but could we please get some support for Mac OSX users who decided to forego the iPhone and stick with Nokia for phones and PIM??? I've had my N97 for almost TWO weeks and there is no iSync support for Calendars and Contacts in Mac, yet! We're your best selling point! We love Apple but we love Nokia better for phones. Give us some support, please.

I agree with some of the above comments regarding the advertisement. It seems like it tried to be like the iPhone ads with the N97 being held in the same position and scrolling through the menus. I know Nokia can do better than this, be a little more original.
As for the Ovi store, give it time. It’s only a month old. At the moment Nokia users are not used to purchasing apps online, I personally don't know any users that have used their Nokia phone to purchase apps. The iPhone market is based around the purchase of music and app's via the iTunes store. This is something Nokia are trying to offer their users.
Lastly, OSX support please. I don't want to have to trust someone's attempt of a solution. I want a Nokia solution.

Check out this video review of the Nokia N97.
It's probably the best video review i've seen.
A very detailed review with a touch of humour aswell.
Also notice the Nokia N97 vs. Touch Pro2 lightsabers at the end of part 2.

I have read over and over again about symbian OS being dated, why is Nokia sticking with it?
Now all I can do is watch other smartphones users with envy coz I jumped in without researching, am stuck in an 18 month contract and can't even get an update for the damn thing. I have litteraly stopped using the phone until I can get an update for it coz it crashes all the time probelm being the UK is not getting the update just yet. Wot's happening Nokia?

Eric… or anybody else with Nokia. I have to add my "me too" to the list. I paid for and downloaded an app. The installation got corrupted, and I have no way of re-installing. I submitted a customer service form 5 days ago and got a "we got your request" 4 days ago. Not a single update since then.
Until/unless Nokia/Ovi gets this mess straightened out, there is no way I'll purchase anything from Ovi again.
