Once again, Nokia has dropped the ball. When will they recognize DFW as the cradle for US telecommunications? They have major offices here, and the area is called Telecom Prairie, and there is an actual part of town in the Northeastern part of DFW called the Telecom Corridor, where most of the major players hold their US operations.

Wake up, Nokia! The mobilist are in DFW and Silicon Valley, NOT New York and Chicago! Look at the blog scene. tnkgirl? Silicon Valley. Darla Mack? DFW. Symbian Guru? DFW. Me? DFW. Matt Bennett? Silicon Valley. Texrat? DFW. Gadget Virtuoso? DFW.

So what the heck is New York and Chicago in the spotlight for? No developers, few bloggers or hardcore mobilists, so I'm confused…

I would love to help organise one in New Delhi, India. We don't have a flagship store, but there is quite a huge Nokia Concept Store. :)

Peter, Do you need someone to help you market the Nokia N900 and Maemo in the Los Angeles, Ca area?

I attend a variety of web and programming related meet ups in and around Los Angeles, own a N800 and think the world of Maemo.

I know that if I went to these meetings with the N900 and showed it off, you would get some dedicated developers interested in the Maemo / Nokia Nxxx platform.

I bet I could set up a booth for Nokia at every conference, trade show and convention in Los Angeles and really promote / sell the platform. Its easy to be an advocate for something you already love!

    Hi!
Nokia Company, which is having a manufacturing unit at Chennai, India and also having grabbed a seizable chunk of sales for it's mobile phones(may be lower end models) should accelerate it's promotional activities for higher end models forthwith without further delay by Pre Release Order Sales of it's eagerly awaited N 900 model!
It's a small wish from an apple iphone lover whose son is a ferocious NOKIA LOVER!

Not so sure if anyone from Nokia will read this but if you do; why is it that the N900 meetup in London had only 80 seats (I think – since when I got to the site to register all seats were taken!). I think Nokia should have at least doubled the places in London since it is a key city and there are so many users/ developers in the UK who are interested in the N900…very disappointing from Nokia
    :(
