The Edinburgh International Festival is one of the great European summer attractions, transforming the sleepy Scottish capital into a vibrant, playful arena where you’ll bump into everyone from thespians to juggling chancers to cutting edge comedians.
The high point for us, however, remains the Fringe. What started decades ago as a bunch of gatecrashing theatrical arts students has developed into the most unpredictable and exciting brew of performances one could hope to see. Highlights this year include:
• Great comedy from the likes of Jason Byrne, Alun Cochrane, and Pete Firman
• Faulty Towers – The Dining Experience
• Denise van Outen in ‘Basildon Blonde’
• Charlie Ross’ ‘One-man Lord of the Rings Trilogy’
