There’s less than two weeks until all five of the PUSH teams will be flying into London to exhibit their completed hacks at the PUSH showcase event on February 4th, which means there’s been plenty for them to be getting on with… here’s this week’s roundup.

First N900 KAPture

First N900 KAPture

The KAPing With The N900 team have had a mixed week. The good news – they’ve managed to ‘KAPture’ their first image with the N900 attached to their kite rig (pictured above). Even though it’s apparently not up to Ric’s standards, we think it looks pretty amazing. And then there’s the bad news – the specialist rig they bought from the USA, is currently (due to some really unlucky timing) being returned to its sender, in the USA! But in true PUSH spirit, they’re not disheartened, rather just realising they might have to build their own! Brilliant.

And what a week it’s been for the Light Hack Crew after Lady BNAS-NAS blogged about going into near meltdown. Thankfully, the problems they were experiencing with coding & digital image processing were solved with some help from Joel over at http://www.openframeworks.cc/ . Thanks Joel!

The Sketch Your World team have let us know that they’ve got their “ugly prototype” working with a pretty impressive amount of functionality. They even uploaded the video below which gives an insight into what the Etch-A-Sketch™ can handle drawing at present.

The Haptic Guide team let us know at the end of last week that their N900 can now walk them home and that with a few more minor adjustments, they’ll have “a functional product ready for demo. Great work guys!

Solderin Skaters gave us a second Team Inspection update, introducing Alexander Lenhardt, who’s working on programming and the board’s trick-detection.

And if all that reading’s making your eyes go funny, it’s been a great week for PUSH video content. We’ve had Episode 2 from the Haptic Guide, Episode 2 from the Light Hack Crew and even Episode 3 from the Solderin’ Skaters crew.

One final note, keep your eyes peeled over the next few days, we’ve got something pretty special to announce!
