Before the blog gets taken over with a heap of cool content from the PUSH showcase, I thought I’d give any newcomers to the PUSH community a chance to see what all five of the PUSH teams have achieved over the last few months and of course, remind the rest of us.

Solderin Skaters: “N900 tracks your skating tricks as you skate, you can even challenge your friends.”
With 9 team members, keeping up with the Solderin Skaters progress has been no mean feat. Thankfully they’ve documented their development and build stages brilliantly; from the impressive Flickr sets, Video blogs and blog posts as well as them uploading a few cool videos to their Youtube account. Check out the time lapse of their build below:

KAPing With The N900: “Flying high with aerial photography taken on an N900..”

KAPIng WIth The N900 consists of Ricardo Mendonça Ferreira and his wife, Henriette Azeredo who both have a serious love for Kite Aerial Photography (KAP). They’ve steadily been keeping the PUSH community up to date with their progress; explaining what KAP is, showing us when they first achieved a live feed from the N900 (see below) as well as uploading a host of amazing photos to their Flickr stream.

Light Hack Crew: “Merging light graffiti and the N900’s photo capabilities…”
This trio of Australians have had more ups and downs in their project than most of the teams, from working in 40°C heat and capturing their first test shots to LADY BNAS-NAS almost having a meltdown when Introcept vansihed into the Cambodian jungle on an ‘Engineers Without Borders’ expedititon. Check out some of their Videos or some of their impressive Flickr uploads.

Haptic Guide: “A modern take on directions with this ‘wearable’ guide.”

The Haptic Guide team were the first to finish their prototype and were sure to let everyone know (including the other teams!) that they were “la fin”. They’ve had their share of problems along the way; from Tim learning to code in Python as he went along, to getting snowed in in their Canadian homelands, but thankfully they’ve documented their progress for all to follow over on their Team page, their Flickr stream and via their video blogs.

Sketch Your World: “The N900 and Etch-A-Sketch teamed up to create kitsch custom art”
The Sketch Your World team are no strangers to hacking and modding, having previously worked on multi-touch and data visualization projects, their Etch-A-Sketch™ project is a perfect combination of both ideas. Over the last few months they’ve given us an insight into the algorithms they’ve been tinkering with, shown us how far they’ve come from their first ‘ugly’ prototype to drawing circles and a N900!

Stay tuned for how to keep up to date with everything that’s going on at the PUSH N900 Showcase event this evening!
