Welcome.

Welcome to the Nokia PUSH N900 MOD IN THE USA website. That’s right, the first PUSH project was so successful that we’ve swung open the virtual doors once again, launching a whole new PUSH project dedicated to all the US hackers, modders and designers.
But what is PUSH N900 MOD IN THE USA all about?
PUSH is a project run by Nokia that initially called out to the global hacker/modder community to harness the open-source Maemo platform that the Nokia N900 runs on, as well as the device itself, and create hardware hacks/mods for something they’re passionate about. The initial PUSH N900 project saw a host of awesome entries from all around the globe, from the Nokia N900 performing light graffiti, kite aerial photography or even real-time scoring of skateboarding tricks amongst your network of fellow skaters.
Now we want to see what the American hacker community can come up with. A panel of judges will choose the top three ideas from everything submitted, after which the finalist teams will be provided with a Nokia N900 and support from Nokia, to actually build their mod. Then, in March, a representative of these three winning teams will be flown to CTIA in Las Vegas, where they’ll get the chance to demonstrate their hack for final judging and the chance for their team to win cash prizes of $10,000, $5,000 and $3,000.
So get submitting, the final date for submissions is Noon ET, February 15, 2010, which means if you’ve got an idea for an awesome hack, you’ve got about three weeks to get your submission to us.
This website is the place to stay up to date with all the news from our US PUSH hackers, modders and designers’ submissions and, once the teams have been selected, their design and build progress that they’ll be blogging about.
You should send the original global PUSH teams to Las Vegas too, for the hack demonstration!
